The first directorial feature in six years from Yuen Woo-ping, the legendary martial arts choreographer behind the action sequences in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "The Matrix," and an adaptation of the acclaimed manhua series of the same name. Released in China in February 2026 to coincide with Chinese New Year, the film marks the big screen return of Jet Li to the wuxia genre. At the time of its launch on Video Store, "Blades of the Guardians" ranked in the Top 100 Wuxia Films on Letterboxd.
