DANCE LIKE NOBODY'S SURVIVING.

Obie (Robby Rackleff) is a hapless loser who's just been dumped. When a secret government experiment goes wrong, it creates a double of him, the Dance Freak, who is on the loose and wrecking everything in its path. With Obie taking the blame for the chaos, his ex Dorty (Megan Koester), a popular candidate running for local office, must put her campaign on hold to save him, with a little help from a scientist (Sheila Mears). An absurd, fast-paced, black-and-white-and-color horror-comedy about the power of dance and the alienation of modern life.

Tailor-made for Letterboxd's cult-comedy crowd, "Dance Freak" brings together Adult Swim and Wham City collaborators Alan Resnick ("This House Has People In It") and Robby Rackleff for an absurdist horror-comedy that feels like David Lynch crashing a Tim & Eric sketch, as likened by Cinema from the Spectrum. Featuring alternative comedy favorites Stavros Halkias, Conner O'Malley and Letterboxd member Sarah Sherman ("Saturday Night Live"), the film brings the duo's particular brand of surreal, DIY filmmaking to a story of government experiments, dancing doppelgängers and modern alienation. Following screenings at Tallahassee Film Festival and Fantasia's Underground section, this off-the-wall oddity is available to rent exclusively on Letterboxd Video Store.
