Dry Leaf
SEARCHING THROUGH THE PIXELS SHE LEFT BEHIND.
Lisa, a photographer, has gone missing. The last known detail is that she had been photographing rural football stadiums in villages across Georgia. Her father, Irakli, sets out to search for her, traveling from place to place. Levani, Lisa's best friend, and an invisible person, also sets off to help.
A three-hour road movie shot entirely on a 2008 Sony Ericsson phone, the latest from Georgian filmmaker Alexandre Koberidze. Selected among the Letterboxd crew's favorite films from the 2025 fall festivals, it turns obsolete, pixelated hardware into a hazy, hypnotic meditation on loss and the people who slip out of our lives. Innovation, here, means looking backwards, and the result feels like a revelation.
