The Pentagon is exempt from international climate agreements and largely absent from mainstream environmental coverage. This documentary makes the case that the US military is the world's single largest institutional polluter, drawing on testimony from veterans, scientists and frontline communities to trace its environmental footprint — from contaminated bases on home soil to toxic battlefields and carbon-heavy operations across the globe.

The second feature documentary from journalist and filmmaker Abby Martin — whose previous film "Gaza Fights for Freedom" built a devoted Letterboxd audience — co-directed here with Mike Prysner. Where the climate conversation typically centres on consumer habits and corporate accountability, "Earth's Greatest Enemy" trains its lens on the institution most rarely scrutinised in that debate, making a case that is difficult to look away from.
