TURN BACK.

A man is trapped in an endless subway corridor on his way to find Exit 8. He discovers a set of rules in order to escape: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary; if you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately; if you don't, carry on. A single oversight will send him back to the beginning. Will he ever reach his goal and exit this infinite nightmare?

Based on the global hit video game of the same name, and premiering in Midnight Screenings at Cannes. The game's deceptively simple premise — a looping underground corridor with a strict set of rules and no margin for error — turns out to be a near-perfect skeleton for cinema, and director Genki Kawamura expands it into something with genuine narrative weight, drawing on a broader tradition of Japanese psychological horror along the way.
