Mum, I'm Alien Pregnant
Mary is a directionless twenty-something still living with her mother in suburban New Zealand. After a bizarre encounter leaves her unexpectedly pregnant with an alien baby, she finds herself navigating the horrors of impending motherhood as her body undergoes increasingly grotesque transformations. A wildly absurd sci-fi horror-comedy about growing up, bodily autonomy and a pregnancy that's anything but ordinary.
From New Zealand filmmaking duo THUNDERLIPS (Sean Wallace and Jordan Mark Windsor) comes a gloriously unhinged sci-fi horror-comedy in the spirit of Peter Jackson’s early splatter films, pairing outrageous practical effects and grotesque body horror with a distinctly Kiwi sense of humor. Making its world premiere in the Midnight program at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, the duo’s feature debut went on to win the New Flesh Award for Best First Feature at the Fantasia International Film Festival, with further screenings at the Whānau Mārama New Zealand International Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival. Expanding on their 2024 short "Help! I’m Alien Pregnant", this gleefully gross-out comedy was hailed by Rue Morgue as “a truly disgusting delight.”
