Just before graduation, Ethan and Alex pose as trans women in a last ditch effort to quell gay rumors about them. It's all a joke until Ethan realizes: she really is trans. As the school year ends, the two best friends must reckon with their changing friendship, coming out, and coming-of-age.

Selected as one of the Letterboxd crew's picks of the best films from the 2025 SXSW Film Festival. The feature debut of writer-director Siobhan McCarthy, shot in a guerrilla spirit with a cast of largely unknown performers, "She's the He!" is a coming-of-age comedy that takes the premise of gender disguise and follows it somewhere most films wouldn't dare.
