In the near future, Ukrainian space trucker Andriy Melnyk is on a lonely four-year mission transporting nuclear waste to Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. His only company is Maxim, a robot programmed with a database of dad jokes. During a routine flight, the unthinkable happens: Earth suddenly explodes, leaving Andriy as supposedly the last human in existence. Just as he begins to succumb to the weight of total isolation, a mysterious radio signal breaks the silence. It’s Catherine, a French scientist calling from a distant, malfunctioning space station. Spurred by a desperate need for hope and a growing love for a voice he has never seen, Andriy sets a daring, high-stakes course across the stars to find her.

Filmed in Kyiv during the ongoing Russian invasion, U Are the Universe is a triumph of Ukrainian creativity. Despite power outages and air-raid sirens, the crew utilized practical sets and groundbreaking VFX to create a film that is as visually stunning as it is emotionally resonant.
